Turns out we walked straight into actual world (and comicbook) history, 27 emotional flashbacks and an existential crisis brought to you by a certain sparkly gauntlet. 💥

They said: „It’s just props.“
We say: it’s therapy for nerds, nostalgia on steroids, and a reminder that Marvel is about so much more than just comic books and superhero movies.

In the Midsomer Murders episode Judgement Day (1999), a young @orlandobloom makes an appearance, right before he shot to fame as Legolas in The Lord of the Rings. ✨ At one point, Barnaby and Troy visit a suspect’s home and Barnaby notes that the house is named “Lothlorien”. A clear LOTR reference, right?

But here’s the thing: the name is never. Mentioned. Again. Completely unrelated to the case. It is the only time Tolkien is mentioned throughout the series. The episode was filmed in January 1999, shortly before LOTR production kicked off. 👀

👉 Could someone on the Midsomer team have known about Orlando’s casting and snuck in a sneaky little Tolkien Easter egg?

Coincidence? Or cheeky foreshadowing? What do you think?
